Shocker Headline: "Gizmos Attract Kids"

June 11, 2009

Hey moms, guess what?! Kids 4-14 are increasingly distracted by computers, cellphones, video games, et.al -- and the trend shows "no sign of reversing any time soon.". So says a surprising (!) study by a consulting group. Of course, to kids this stuff falls in the category of "toys." Electronics only are categorized in our own heads as something other than playthings because we know what they cost!

As with you Paula, this isn't so surprising. With scare mongers, child snatchers etc on the streets kids do spend a lot more time inside. The digital era is here and with child safety as well as time crunched parents it fits the bill.
Yes cost is very much an issue with us also and we haven't updated anything since the PS2.
Times have certainly changed - not always for the worse though.
